The Way to Emoyeni

Emoyeni is reached by a farm road.
Please note that we prefer people not to drop in without phoning first. As we run retreats, some of which are silent, and our staff complement is small, unexpected visits can be awkward..
DIRECTIONS
WE ARE NOT NEAR THE TOWN OF MAGALIESBERG.
From Johannesburg, take the R512 (Malibongwe) or R511 (William Nicol) or Beyers Naude (M5).
R512 route - this is currently under construction and should only be used when there isn't too much traffic.
An alternative is Beyers Naude (M5) - take Beyers Naude untill it ends. Turn right and then left onto the R512.
Carry on all the way to a T-junction near Broederstroom. You will see a fruit / general dealer ahead, with a Sasol garage on your left. Turn left here to follow the R512 to Magaliesburg and Broederstroom. (Don't turn right to take the R104 to Pretoria). Stay on this road for approximately 15km, passing through Broederstroom (Spar, Wimpy) and go past Pecanwood on the right. About 3km after Pecanwood, turn right (signposted R512/ Brits). Go for about 5km, crossing over the dam, and turn right at the next T-junction. At the next 4-way stop, north of Hartbeespoort Dam, where you'll see a craft market (during the day only), plus shops and garages, turn left onto the R104 towards Rustenburg / Brits / Sun City.
R511 route
Be sure not to miss any sign-posts, as there is a turn-off to the left just after Laezonia which is not very obvious. Near the dam you will go through some stops and eventually see the Dam on your left. Don't take any turn-offs to the right signposted R511 / R512 / Brits. Carry on straight through the tunnel and cross the dam wall. At the 4-way stop north of Hartbeespoort Dam, where you'll see a craft market (during the day), plus shops and garages, go straight on the R104 towards Rustenburg / Brits / Sun City.
All routes, once you are past the 4-way stop and craft market
Don't take any turn-offs to the right sign-posted for the N4 / Brits / Sun City / Rustenburg. (Stay on the R104). About 30 km from the craft market, you will pass the town of Mooinooi on your right. Go slowly for approximately another 1 km, then turn left at the sign-post to BARNARDSVLEI. The road is tarred for about 2 km, then becomes a wide gravel road.
About 500 m on the gravel (about 2,5 km from the start of Barnardsvlei road), turn left again onto a narrow farm road. There is an "EMOYENI" signpost here, amongst a cluster of signs, and a caravan park on the corner where you must turn. Follow the farm road for about 1,3 km to a T-junction at gates with "Rand Water - Private Road" signs on it. (Ignore the 1st turn-off to the left which is sign-posted A58B.) At the T-junction, an "EMOYENI" sign-board points left. Turn left and follow the narrow farm road / track for 0,7 km to another "EMOYENI" sign board. Don't turn in at the Buffelshoek entrance that has 4 signposts. Continue straight and turn right at the large sign that says EMOYENI / A65, and follow the winding track for another 500 m to the house. Basically, once you're on the dirt roads, turn only where you see an Emoyeni sign.
